The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature has conserved the specific name Prionocerus bicolor Redtenbacher, 1868 for a species of soft-winged flower beetle (Cleroidea, Prionoceridae) by giving it precedence over its senior subjective synonym Prionocerus pertii Laporte, 1836.
