The purpose of this note, under Article 39, is to propose the replacement name BOLTONOCOSTIDAE for the invalid name ORTHOCOSTIDAE Bolton, 1912, a monotypic family of fossil insects (Insecta, Hypoperlida) of Carboniferous age.
