Glenn, a Senior Lecturer in the Sydney School of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney (where he lectures on veterinary anatomy as his day job) has been studying the taxonomy and natural history of reptiles and amphibians, concentrating on the Australasian region (including New Guinea, New Caledonia and associated island arcs), for over 45 years. His major research group is scincid lizards, but has also worked on typhlopid and elapid snakes, pygopod lizards, other gekkotans, and frogs. He is a past Editor of the Australian journal Herpetofauna, past President, Vice-President and Treasurer of the Australian Society of Herpetologists, and a member of a number of taxonomic advisory groups in herpetology, including the Australian Society of Herpetologists Taxonomic Advisory Committee, the Scientific Advisory Board of the Reptile Database, Taxonomic Advisor to the Skink Specialist Group of the IUCN, and Subcommittee on Taxonomy of the World Congress of Herpetology. He is an Honorary Research Associate at the Australian Museum, where he does much of his research work, and is a past Research Associate at the University of Queensland and Bernice P Bishop Museum, Honolulu.
Summary of Research & Education:
Glenn completed his B.V.Sc. in 1978 at the University of Sydney, and his Ph.D. in 1992 at the same institution. He has been employed at the University of Sydney since 1985. He has written over 230 research papers, book chapters and books.
