I wish to express my support for the conservation of the specific name gigantea for the tortoise Geochelone gigantea.
I have used that name in several publications on ecology and physiology
of tortoises, in addition to the two quoted in Case 3463, and believe
that the taxonomic case for the new name Dipsochelys dussumieri is not sound.
